If you are spending the summer in Paris, there is an inevitable district to visit : Le Marais, this area brings together a wide mixitude of things between the jewish, the chinese and the gay area, religious edifices, designer shops, bars, art galleries and squares, this part of Paris is full of little streets and treasures to explore. To help you find your way in le Marais, we made for you two itineraries you can do in 1 day :)
South Marais itinerary :
L’AS DU FALAFEL
Eat a falafel in the famous jewish area, rue des rosiers, L’as du Falafel is known as the best falafel of Paris.
Do a trip in the Ali Baba’s cave of design & deco and find some originals gifts and beautiful objects to rig out your home.
Visit the last exhibition of the gallery L’imprimerie Paris, “Petit Appétit”, a show about food illustrated by the artist Jean Jullien. And taste the different chocolate specially designed for the show!
L’ÉCLAIR DE GÉNIE
Discover the most eccentric pastry of Paris in one big bite, the traditional éclair is fully reappropriated by L’éclair du Genie and will surprise you by its colors and taste.
North Marais itinerary :
To start the day, take an healthy bento at Nanashi, the new japanese place to be !
Visit the far-famed Perrotin Gallery specialized in Asiatic & Modern Art where a lot of famous artist such as Murakami, Kaws & Sophie Call have exposed.
Papier Tigre is the best funky place to go find some graphic supplies and art craft !
THE BROKEN ARM
Before go home, take a break at The Broken Arm shop with a good coffee and homemade cake.
BONUS + SWEDISH INSTITUTE
If you are not in a mood to walk and explore, you can pass the day at the Swedish Institute and enjoy the summer sun in the garden while reading a book from their library or visit the exhibitions in the cool shade :)
